Our Hornets Values are really important to us.
Earlier in the year, we asked our Junior players to think of words which reflected our great club and they didn’t disappoint!
We now have a set of values we live by and have used the word ‘Hornets’ to help us remember them.
Our girls then created some wonderful piece of artwork which really bring them to life!
‘H’ for Happy…..
Netball should always be fun, and we must always enjoy it and have a smile on our face. There will be some games hard and some training sessions tough, but overall the happy memories and friendships we make along the way will shine through.
‘O’ for Opportunities…
We pride ourselves on helping our girls grow to be the best they can as players and also support them to develop other skills like respect, teamwork and the value of giving back. We always ask that the girls take these opportunities and make the most of them. There are also lots of progression opportunities, including our new Performance Pathway Programme and great links into our hugely successful senior club too.
‘R’ for Respectful…
As a club, this is one of our most important value. This isn’t just respecting the volunteers that give up their time to make a netball journey come to life (such as the coaches, umpires, scorers, league organisers etc), this is about respecting each other as team mates. Respecting we all have a role to play on court and if you don’t work hard at training, listen, try your hardest or be a team player respectful of the volunteers around you, you are letting not only yourself down, but also your friends and team mates. We never want to lose sight of why we are all on court and if we always make sure we all have each others backs, we won’t go far wrong
‘N’ for Never Give Up…
Yes, there will be tough games, yes training is hard at the end of a long day at school, but we never give up. Staying physically fit and healthy is so important but it is also important to be mentally fit and healthy. We instil in our girls that they can achieve anything they want to and support this journey
‘E’ for Encouragement…
When we are having those down times, it will be your team mates that are the ones that will pick you up. They will also be the one that gives you the best hug when things are going well. Take a conscious decision; be that person who claps each and every time a goal is scored, congratulate an interception and keep encouraging everyone on that court to be the best they can. You will be more inspirational than you realise
‘T' is for Teamwork…
Netball is not an individual sport; we must all work together to win a game. Support, encouragement and TRUST are so important - GO HORNETS!
‘S’ is for Succeed…
Success is about being the best we can and being rewarded for that. It means we work hard, show our opposition we mean business and we push ourselves with every inch of our body to put out the performance of our lives, each and every time we hit the court.
